He Got Shell Game

Zoals de regular customers hier al weten kom ik binnenkort met naam en persoonsbeschrijving in een boek van The NY Times bestsellerslist auteur Steve Alten. En onnodig om hier te melden dat je behoorlijk wat in huis moet hebben om op de bestsellerslist van The New York Times te komen. Dan heb je zogezegd aardig wat kaftjes over de toonbank laten gaan.

Gisteren schreef ik hem een e-mail en liet ik weten dat ik een post wilde wijden aan zijn nieuwe boek The Shell Game dat eind vorige maand in de VS in de handel is gekomen en wat nu al aardig wat stof doet opwaaien. Alten wijkt met dit boek namelijk af van zijn fantastische fictie en bewandelt voor het eerst het pad van de politieke thrillers. The Shell Game gaat over de strijd om olie, 9/11 en de reële dreiging van een nieuwe aanslag. Politieke leiders komen er niet goed vanaf in dit boek waar Alten een aantal jaren research voor heeft gedaan.
